Included in this download are a powerpoint which includes prompts for children and teacher notes, a separate PDF of teacher notes and a word document of simple supporting sheets for the children to work on.
 
The whole of this activity is suitable for children in UKS2, however it can be adapted for lower year groups and ideas for how this can be done are included in the teacher notes.
 
If you are planning to teach the whole sequence you might want to leave about a week's worth of maths lessons/a whole day in order to complete the investigative process. However, if you have less time to do it, you can miss out some of the preceding investigative steps and provide children with the information that otherwise they would have worked out for themselves.
