Please don't order lenses with prescriptions above these powers (see our tob) For online orders simply make an order with us online, then send your frames to us in the post. Internet orders are shipped or can be collected from store. We set the bifocal line starting point either as marked by you with a pen before sending in your glasses to be reglazed or as measured by us or at a standard setting of 5mm below the HCL centre of the lenses in the glasses frame (which is average) if you prefer. Our Reglaze Bifocals service offers new prescription Bifocals into your own frames with prescriptions up to SPH's +/- 10.00 and opposite CYL's +/- 4.00 with Prisms up to 4 inclusive if you want to buy from us instore. If you would like to bring your frames yourself to store during opening times we can process your order there and take measurements if you request at a small cost. Your Bifocal lenses will be ready within a few days to collect from store upon our notification email.

We now glaze new Bifocal lenses into your own frames within a few days. We glaze full rim or semi rimless glasses frames in plastic or metal, but not rimless glasses.

We set the bifocal line starting point either as marked by you with a pen before sending in your glasses to be reglazed, or at a standard setting of 5mm below the centre of the lenses in the glasses (which is average) if you prefer. Please read our Terms and conditions before sending frames to us.

Your frames are glazed at your own risk if damage or breakage occurs when we glaze them and you agree they are deemed as £0 value when asking us to reglaze them (see our terms of business). Whilst we are experts and will take every care with your frames sometimes accidents can happen (usually older frames or poor quality or faulty frames). We will take all due care when glazing your frames.
SHIPPED ORDERS IF YOU SEND YOUR FRAME TO US FOR GLAZING.

We can usually take (copy) the height and pd measurements within a reasonable level of accuracy from any existing lenses fitted already in your frames.

If the frames are new (no existing lenses) we will set the starting point of the bifocal segment lens at 5mm below the centre of the front frame panel (eye shape). This is the average. You may also mark with a pen the height of your bifocal line (usually about 2mm below your bottom eye lid) when wearing the glasses frames if you prefer and we will work to your measurement.

Pupil distance measurements (width of your eyes) can either be supplied by you when entering your prescription or we can set the PD at the average of 63mm (distance).

Please do not order lenses on this site with prescription powers above this or for use with Rimless glasses as we will not be able to except your order but handling charges and costs of any lenses ordered for use with rimless by mistake will apply. Please read our terms of business.
Liability of return transit

Please note: Please read our terms of business with regard to liability of your items including frames whilst in return transit. We contract with you on the basis that your frames are deemed to be of £0 value in the event of loss in transit both to and from Ilkeston Factory Specs. We advise The Special Delivery option within our ordering process which offers insurance if you consider your frames valuable in the event of loss in transit. (insured up to £100)
