For Christians, the Olive tree symbolises 'Hope'. In the Old Testament a dove returns to Noah and the Ark with an olive branch, a sign that land is near and the flood at an end. It is also an evergreen and can thrive in all conditions, the average age of the olive tree is 800 years old!
Served up next to the olive branch are a heritage set of 3 rice bowls - the first is a reinterpretation of a Straits Chinese blue and white bowl. The rest are re-imagined blue and whites.
