Emerald Organic Fractionated Coconut Oil comes in a beautiful 250ml, environmentally friendly glass bottle so you don't have to worry about the toxins from a plastic bottle leaching into your oils! The bottle also makes a beautiful bud vase for when you are all done with your carrier.

My Organic Fractionated Coconut Oil (FCO) is a soothing, non-greasy, easily absorbed carrier for soft, smooth, beautifully hydrated skin that glows. It's gently processed from fresh, organic coconuts with no harmful additives.

Not only are carrier oils are used in aromatherapy to dilute essential oils to a level that is safe to use on the skin, they actually prevent the volotile essential oils from evaporating too quickly, and they CARRY the oil's into your skin so they can get to work healing. They mainly consist of fatty acids or lipids. These fatty acids have therapeutic properties that add additional benefits to an essential oil blend.

FCO is one of my favorite carrier oils because of its versatility.

You can use it on its own as a lightweight, non-greasy, easily absorbed skin moisturizer, for oil pulling/oral care, and of course you can also blend it with your favorite essential oils to make ready-to-use roll-ons, mouthwash, or perfumes!  FCO is odorless, flavorless, clear, resists rancidity, and is highly stable.

Why “fractionated”?

Unrefined coconut oil solidifies at room temp making it difficult to blend, and not as versatile, but pure fractionated coconut oil stays liquid at any temperature. No chemical processes are involved in the fracitionating process at all, it’s a natural process that removes long-chain triglycerides (fatty acids) while leaving the medium-chain triglycerides. (MCTs)

These MCTs have many therapeutic properties that add additional wellness benefits to your essential oil blends!

  • How You Can Use Emerald's Organic Fractionated Coconut Oil

    • Moisturizer. FCO is a lightweight oil without greasy residue so you can use it as a face or body moisturizer, hair conditioner, or nail oil. It is good for all skin types as it soothes, softens, and protects, without clogging pores. (Since it’s non-staining, it easily washes out of fabric such as sheets and clothing.)
    • Blending with essential oils. FCO is a mild, very lightly scented carrier oil that allows your essential oils to be the stars of the blend. Dilution is important for safety when applying essential oils topically, and FCO is my favorite go-to option for carrying the healing constituents of Emerald's pure essential oils during topical use.

When combining essential oils with carrier oils, follow the safety guidelines for percentages as discussed on the Dilution Guidelines Page.

  • Although the FDA classifies a coconut as a tree nut for food labeling purposes, coconut’s botanical classification is actually a fruit.

“A nut can be defined as a one-seeded fruit. With that loose definition, a coconut can also be a nut. However, a coconut is not a true nut. A true nut, such as the acorn, are indehiscent or do not open at maturity to release its seeds. The seeds are released when the fruit wall decays or are digested by an animal.” Library of Congress

A 2018 Study “Correlation of negative skin-prick test results for tree nuts and successful tree nut challenges among children with peanut allergy” concluded that “Despite current recommendations to avoid all tree nuts for patients with peanut allergy, the majority of patients with peanut allergy had negative SPTs and food challenges to certain tree nuts, especially macadamia, pine nut, and coconut. This pattern was seen despite most patients having multiple nut sensitizations.”
