Raw Material

  • Harvested by women's self-help groups utilizing a natural waste product and reduce the risk of forest fires
  • Jute is sourced from the jute field in the rivers running into the Bay of Bengal
  • Hemp is sourced from the mountain range areas of Uttrakhand


Production

  • Hand-made by women and low-income people in the foothills of the Himalayas
  • Bheemal is hand-weaved into mats and curtains and other products with a padding
  • Nettle is hand-weaved into a fabric to use for various home interior products
  • Hemp is hand-weaved into a fabric and tailored into products
  • Jute is stitched into shopping bags, file folders and other utility products

 

Environmental Impact

  • By focusing on using local raw materials reduces the carbon footprint of all products from the beginning.

Social Impact

  • Provides commercial and technical knowledge training to women's self-help groups.
