EN - Best known for its repertoire in Argentinian tango, the bandoneon was in fact created in Germany during the XIXth century to replace the organ in poor parishes, and as an instrument to accompany religious ceremonies performed outdoors.
These are the roots that we want to rediscover by inviting the bandoneon to join the viola da gamba and the voice in Johann Sebastian Bach’s organ music, adapting the Orgelbüchlein chorals for this original performance with its unique distribution and timeless sound.
FR - Habituellement connu dans le tango argentin, le bandonéon fut pourtant créé en Allemagne au XIXème siècle pour remplacer l’orgue dans les paroisses modestes ou désirant un instrument accompagnant les cérémonies religieuses en extérieur.
Ce sont ces racines que la voix et la viole de gambe veulent ici révéler en invitant le bandonéon à se joindre à elles dans la musique d’orgue de Johann Sebastian Bach, adaptant les chorals de l’Orgelbüchlein pour cette formation inouïe, d’un naturel étonnant, aux sonorités intemporelles.
