2018 Ladies Who Shoot Their Lunch Shiraz

2018 Ladies Who Shoot Their Lunch Shiraz

SKU: FWC4

Growing grapes, hunting for our table and raising a farm all help our family to truly understand this land. Inspired by Marr Fowles' passion for hunting  and gathering, our Ladies Who Shoot Their Lunch wines have been crafted to complement the textures and fabours of wild food. Vibrant in colour, intensely aromatic and fine in texture with pristine fruit flavours.

  • Vintage Conditions

2018 was an outstanding vintage. The year was warm without being too hot, which allowed the vines to ripen the fruit to the degree we desired without any stress, resulting in all aspects of fruit composition being good. Acid was naturally maintained and other critical components of the grape for sound fermentation were plentiful.

  • Wine Making

This wine was fermented using wild yeast, with its slightly unpredictable nature, this builds more complexity in the wine. This wine was matured in various ways over 12 months as there are many components in the blend. Some parcels were matured in new and old oak, and the remaining parcel was maintained as a fresh fruity parcel in stainless steel.

  • Color, Nose and Palate

Deep youthful vibrant purple. Lifted blue and dark berry, pepper spice and spicy oak. A sophisticated combination of red and darker berries, dark chocolate, oak spice, slippery silky tannins, great balance, length and intensity.
