Sandpiper sun-catcher/tree or window ornaments is there to remind you of the beach days in the Maritimes! The Sandpiper is a favourite little long-legged bird commonly found running around the mud-flats of the Bay of Fundy and along the sandy beaches of the east of Canada. These sandpipers are loosely modeled on the Semi-Palmated and Least Sandpiper varieties.
Your ornament is created entirely from glass, and conveniently threaded with clear monofilament for dangling in your window! The shape is designed and hand-cut, then layers of coloured crushed glass are built up on the clear shape before firing the bird is in a kiln over many hours.
