Inspiring golf... in an inspiring setting... in aid of inspiring causes!

What Makes This Event Special?

Most golf enthusiasts have probably taken part in a golf day at some point or another. But fewer can say they’ve played the oldest golf club in the UK, had a dram at the 18 th hole, a VIP tour of the storied museum and enjoyed fine dining within the clubs hallowed dining room!

The Course / The Golf

Our golf day will be held on Friday 21 June at Blackheath Golf Club, the oldest golf club in the UK!

The course is a par 71, with excellent fairways and well positioned bunkers, making it a great test of golfing prowess. It has a testing slope rating of 128 when played from the back tees.

Designed by Tom Dunn in 1892, the course was added to by the great James Braid in the late 1920s. Mr Braid was himself an incredibly successful golfer and a member of the so-called Great Triumvirate of British golfers.

Teams of four will aim to accumulate the highest team points total by the end of play. The best two scores from the group will count on each hole, rather than a combined total of all four players. In addition, there will be nearest-the-pin and longest-drive challenges along the way.*

In 2014, the course was updated by Ken Moodie, who has been involved at the forefront of golf course design across Europe. This brought the course up to modern standards, providing the challenging natural parkland course that we have today.

Guests are asked to have a current club handicap and may be asked to produce a handicap certificate. Anyone who clearly does not have sufficient golfing skills may be asked to leave the course.
