About the event

World Suicide Prevention Day is acknowledged every year on the 10th of September.

This year Outlive, Yuvaa and Agatsu Foundation are coming together to spend the day at Agatsu's Community Centre, learning and understanding more about suicide and suicide prevention as well as spreading awareness and normalizing the conversation around suicide.

Far too many people struggle in silence. Suicide is preventable

We invite you to come for a suicide prevention awareness workshop to learn more about suicide and what your role in its prevention can be; followed by an awareness drive around Bandra to take this knowledge to more people. We will end the evening by lighting a candle to signify our support to the cause.

The awareness workshop will be 2 and a half hours long, conducted by trained instructors. We will then break into groups, each with a trained team leader, to make posters and info-graphics about what we have learnt. Armed with our posters of hope and information, we will venture into the streets of Bandra to talk to people about what we've learnt and what their thoughts are around suicide and suicide prevention.

Flow:

1:45pm - Registration

2:00pm - What is suicide? - Awareness workshop

5:00pm - Postermaking

6:00pm - Oureach in and around Bandra west

8:00pm - Light a candle wherever you are, take a picture, put it on Instagram and tag us!

PLEASE NOTE:

This is a heavy and sensitive subject.

We urge you to check-in with yourself and decide if you feel ready to attend this orientation and event at this particular point in your life.

If you have attempted suicide in the past year, we recommend that you do not attend this orientation right now.

This orientation does not certify you to be a counsellor or mental health professional.
