Adire: Beyond Indigo - July 2023

Join artist Oluwaseyi “Shayee” Awoyomi at the Halsey House & Garden to learn all about Adire by making your very own T-shirt. Adire is a unique and captivating art form that has been practiced for centuries in Nigeria. Adire is coined from the Yoruba: Adi (We tie), Are (we dye). Step into the world of Yoruba Adire and learn techniques and processes of creating unique and vibrant textiles that tell a story through color and pattern. Space is limited to 20 participants so RSVP today and make sure to bring a lunch!

All guests will leave with a t-shirt dyed with their own design. At check out you will be asked to specify a shirt size for all guests, we have shirts small to XXL.

Reminder - this is not a drop in class, you should expect to be here for the entire duration of the program from 10am to 2pm.

Parking Info

Guests are asked to park on the West side of South Main Street (the same side as the property) and to respect all posted parking signs and to avoid parking on the neighbors lawns.
