About the Event

In 2020, a project made possible through a Non-Capital Grant from the Maryland Historical Trust provided the Rodgers Tavern Museum and the Town of Perryville (which owns the museum) a set of comprehensive information products to assess potential archaeological resources contained within the museum grounds and Lower Ferry Park.  There were two-main objectives in this project:

  1. Design and conduct a non-invasive archaeological survey of the grounds around Rodgers Tavern, built ca. 1740s; Lower Ferry Park immediately adjacent to the east of Rodgers Tavern; and a smaller area to the south of the current railroad line across the Susquehanna River, and
  2. Build a comprehensive Geographic Information System (GIS) containing historical data, previous archaeological site plans, and data on modern infrastructure.

This talk presents the results of the project.
