The immensely talented Catbug the Popstar will grace us with a live performance, setting the stage for your artistic inspiration like never before.

As we proudly celebrate our 15th Drink & Draw edition (yes, we've truly started a trend!), our guest curator, Will Crosson, not only brings you his exceptional fashion perspective but also stands as a nominee for this year's prestigious CAFA Fashion Student Award. 

Here's how Will Crosson describes his collection, titled Carillion: 

''A meditation on labour, privilege, and paradox, Carillion explores the nuances in feelings of estrangement in Canadian culture. During a time of intense social and environmental upheavals, the need for alternative conceptions of community and ecology, and the way these concepts interact, become increasingly dire. In a highly extractivist society, where identities are formed around paradoxical conceptions of abundance, is it possible to inject a sense of unity? I aim to provide a reinterpretation of Canadian culture and identity. One that delivers and exposes these oxymorons that remain so arduous to reconcile. Led by the New Sincerity movement, this body of work treats the themes of kinship, labour, and environment with gravity and nuance. Steering away from irony, I believe these topics deserve practical insights and interpretation through a novel design practice. Romanticized aspects of Canadian life clash with symbols of privilege and oppression through embroidered elements, providing a path through this country’s deep identity crisis. The needlework is a labour of love, providing a microcosmic example of work, identity, and tradition. However, the elements built upon this foundation juxtapose freedom from domination with the freedom to dominate, exploring how self-examination might remind us of what we work for. ''

At the end of the event, seize the chance to submit your artwork through our submission form. Morhange, a gifted mixed media artist, will work their magic, transforming a carefully selected array of pieces into a stunning 24-page editorial that will prominently feature in LIGNE DE FUITE VOL.4.
