SMT FUNdraising Concert!

We are FUNdraising for our Community Instrument Packs  for our therapists to use while out in the community, so please come and join the Southern Music Therapy team & some of our clients for an afternoon of FUNdraising, music making, singing & a raffle!

Musical instruments play a big part in the therapeutic space in music therapy. Not only are they handy for group music-making, but they can actually provide an opportunity for clients to have an alternative means of self-expression. Often times, when words fail, instrument playing can become an extension of one’s emotional expression, a point of contact, an opportunity to be heard in a unique way, and an opportunity to participate in creative exploration.

 The role of musical instruments reinforces one’s sense of identity, promoting respect, expression, and self-care. This is why having quality instruments and learning how to care for them are important in the music therapy space.

We look at the accessibility of many of our instruments, and make sure we have a range of instruments for a variety of tastes and abilities so that our clients can be as successful as possible, and participate fully in the groups. This requires us to research and acquire instruments that are of a high quality, and sometimes rare. Your donation will go towards purchasing quality accessible instruments for our clients to enjoy in both groups and individual music.

Raffle prizes include vouchers, resources & other goodies from TukiTuki Instruments, Sounding Board Music Therapy, Supervision in Australia, Moutique, Braintree Wellness Centre, Voice Physio NZ, Nutrient Rescue & so much more! Prizes will be won as packs. Raffle tickets for these packs are available now, purchase during your session or at the concert $3 for 1 ticket, $5 for 2 tickets or $8 for 3 tickets, please bring cash to your session & on the day! 

Ticketing is a little different for this event, here are a few options:

• Simply enter what you would like to pay for a ticket in the 'write a price' section & that is your ticket/donation! Cash donations are welcome on the day - we do not have EFTPOS facilities. If you would like to pay cash on the day, simply enter your ticket price on here as $0.00 to be added to the RSVP list. 
• Purchase a t-shirt via our website - www.smt.nz/smtshop - there is a section in the comments at the checkout, simply put YES.
• You can also make a $65 donation that will equal $15 donation, $45 t-shirt & $5 for 2 x raffle tickets - make sure you note this in the comments when making your purchase.

Tuesday 26th September  - 1.30pm - 4pm at Braintree Wellness Centre, Concert to start at 1.45pm sharp!
