FREE EVENT for Middle School Students at MMS, TMS, & WMS!
DAY OF PERCUSSION: Students will be introduced to many types of Percussion Instruments. In the first hour, students will learn a Mallet Percussion piece (Bells, Xylophones, Vibraphones, Marimbas, and more!). In the second hour, students will enter the world of Marching Percussion with the Drumline. Play the Marching Snare, Tenors, Bass Drums & Cymbals. In the third and final hour, students will learn a song on the Caribbean Steel Pans. At the conclusion, students will perform for parents and we're done!
DAY OF GUARD: Students will first be introduced to the various types of equipment commonly used in the Color Guard activity. These include flags, rifles, and sabers. Then, students will begin to learn a performance routine that will be performed for parents at the end of the day.
Performance for Parents by Both Groups: 12 noon for all students and parents. The performances will be short and exhibit what was learned at the 2022 Fauquier Music Day of Percussion & Guard!
