This Camp is for Rising 6th Graders and Campers will be introduced to the String Orchestra Instruments throughout the week. These include the Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass.

Camp Concert
Thursday, June 16 starting at 6:00 pm. More info to come about the Concert!
What Happens on the First Day?
Students are introduced to all of the Orchestra Instruments that are available in Beginner Orchestra Camp.
Instruments Covered
The Violin, Viola, Cello, and Bass. Everyone will get the chance to try all of these instruments throughout the week!
Instrument Introductions
On the First Day of Beginner Orchestra Camp, every student will get the chance to hear all of the instruments performed by the Teachers, be taught how they all work, and the unique characteristics of each instrument.
After Instrument Introductions are complete, students will spend at least one session for the rest of the Beginner Orchestra Camp performing on each instrument. This includes learning how to make a sound, learning a few songs, and learning the proper techniques to get started the right way!
Later in the Week
As the week progresses, instructors and students will hone in on the instrument best suited for the individual student.
But I Can’t Read Music!
That’s OK - you have to learn sometime and there’s no time like Beginner Orchestra Camp. We will get you started.
The Final Day and Camp Concert
The Final Day of Beginner Orchestra Camp will start like every other day. But that evening, the Beginners will perform their VERY FIRST BAND CONCERT!
The Camp Concert will be in the evening on Thursday, June 16, and is open to the public. More details will be announced prior to the Camp.
Enjoy the THRILL, EXCITEMENT, ENJOYMENT, ADRENALINE RUSH, FUN, AMUSEMENT, AND DELIGHT of performing in front of a live audience with fellow Orchestra Members. Invite your entire family to see this exciting moment in your life!
FEE: $75 ea
What Does It Include?
The fee covers the costs of the Camp. Campers receive instruction, materials, and a Camp T-Shirt to wear at the Camp Concert, which is theirs to keep.
All fees are due by May 27, 2022.
A $10 late charge will be applied to all registrations and balances received after May 27, 2022.
REFUNDS:
If a refund is requested BY May 27, 2022, it will be granted, minus a $1.50 Administration Fee. No refunds will be issued after May 27, 2022. Please call 540-422-7300 X 1150 or e-mail apaul@fcps1.org immediately if you wish to cancel. (Email is preferred).
A $30 fee will be charged for returned checks.
