Meet our Human Books >>

The Human Library is a movement that challenges stereotype and prejudices through dialogue. First started in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2000, the Human Library grew into a global movement.

In the Human library, a BOOK is human volunteer on loan to have personal conversation with you, the READER. Books are people who defy stereotypes and can answer questions to help challenge assumptions about a given subject based on their personal experiences.

Presented in partnership with Scan Design Foundation, and hosted at Folio: The Seattle Athenaeum, this two day event will feature a collection of local Books. Readers will have the chance to check out one of our Books from a selection of titles to learn about the Book's individual experiences and engage in conversation.
