About the event

You are cordially invited to join the Hispanic Women's Network of Texas (HWNT) RGV Chapter as we host our 3rd Annual Lady in Red Scholarship Gala on Thursday, April 27th, 2023. Doors open at 6:00 pm.

The Lady in Red Scholarship Gala was created for the women of the Rio Grande Valley who would like to give back to the next generation of Latina leaders in a fun and unique way. The proceeds from this event will support the financial foundation of the HWNT-RGV Latinas in Progress (LIP) Scholarship program.

Lady in Red “Madrinas” are women who are considered innovators and advocates on issues relating to women. These women exhibit a commitment and passion to community and public service. Madrinas are supportive of the HWNT mission and exhibit the qualities of advocacy, education, professional development and philanthropy.

Each Lady in Red Madrina will be recognized at the Lady in Red Scholarship Gala on April 27th, 2023 during the "Passion Show" where they'll strut the red carpet modeling off their beautiful red gown.

The event is open to the public and seating is limited. Tickets to the 3rd Annual Lady in Red Scholarship Gala are $50/person and may be purchased via Eventbrite. Attendees not joining us as Madrinas are encouraged to wear black attire. Tickets will NOT be sold at the door.

For reserved tables, group tickets, and sponsorship information, call HWNT-RGV Past Chair, Marie Garcia, at 956-524-2014 ext.1.
