Every year school leaders identify the next set of curriculum developments that are need - schools are a continual wheel of progress. However, it is often the case that there isn't the necessary in-house expertise needed to develop a really great curriculum. Aidan's experience as a senior leader in schools, and in working with a variety of schools on their curriculum, makes him the perfect partner for schools wanting to develop their curriculum. Aidan's skills lie in working alongside school leaders, empowering them to devise and implement bespoke curriculum and working as a critical friend to review the changes that are made. Aidan uses his knowledge of research-based practice and couples this with his experiences of teaching in order to develop approaches that work. Aidan understands that first and foremost the key stakeholders in all school improvement efforts are the children themselves - everything must be for their benefit. Hand in hand with this goes the importance of teacher wellbeing - Aidan knows that well teachers teach well so he guides schools towards efficient yet effective practice. During Curriculum Development Days, Aidan will work with senior and/or middle leaders to explore a curriculum area, identify values, vision, aims and purposes, before developing the key content for the curriculum, ensuring there is appropriate coverage, pitch and progression.
